Inclusion with skill
I just wanted to send our thanks and compliments to you and your team for the skilful way they handled a student's behavior this morning. They were kind and effective in containing his agression and distress, soothing him and enabling him to become calmer and still participate. We had a great show with the rest of the crew and some great connections with this student. (Michelle, Sensorium Theatre - May 2021)
Hello, my name is Lesley and my son, Ronald, is in yr 3 at RESC. He has nonverbal autism and has attended RESC since pre-school. I can't express enough how much the teachers and this school have done for my son and in turn, our family. The support, patience and understanding have been a tremendous help to us and Ronnie and it shows in his absolute love of getting on the bus and going to school. Not to mention the incredible strides in his vocabulary and behaviour. We are so grateful to RESC and its fantastic Teachers and I honestly can't praise them enough.
I have 3 children who attend River Side Gardens Primary School/ Ed Support, one in mainstream and two in education support. The two girls "twin daughters" who attend ED Support have shown outstanding progress, which is all thanks to the hard working staff/teachers/assistent teachers. As a mother it's my duty to do what is best for my children. We decided two years ago to swap schools so the girls got the extra support they need/needed. Best Decision!!! I'm amazed at how far they've come in such a short time with their learning/Interacting with others /speech / confidence along with many other things I could list. I'm extremely happy our choice. I was referred to the Riverside Education Support Centre 6 years ago now for my eldest of three sons. He was diagnosed with global developmental delay that later changed to an Intellectual Disability. My wife and I relocated to be closer to the school with having our second son also diagnosed with a disability. The school has been supportive beyond what you would expect for a school to be. On a level well beyond just 1 or 2 people. Every person who works within the school is passionate about helping and caring for the disadvantaged. It's a unique community to be a part of and leaves me feeling more like I'm leaving my children with family than with a school. Watching my children learn and development over the years has been very rewarding and Its a given that they wouldn't be where they are today with out every body at Riverside. Ben
