Tertiary Support Program
Riverside Education Support Centre has a long history of providing opportunity to trainee teachers and education assistants to learn from our qualified staff and team-based program development.
Throughout the year, several students are hosted, sometimes for several weeks, so that they can be immersed in the supportive learning environment that enables our unique students to grow and develop according to their potential. These practical placements are often defining moments for a student teacher's career choices, reaffirming their choice to work with children with disabilities.
Recently, one of our student teachers wrote to us of their experience at Riverside ESC:
"Thank you so much for allowing me to complete my certificate 4 work placement at Riverside Education Support in room 10. I had the most amazing experience and being able to work with kid of all types of needs has really shown me what I want for my future - being able to assist and make a difference to kids with needs of all ages and year groups.
Your staff at Riverside ESC, both teachers and EAs, are all truly wonderful helpful kind people who treated me as one of the team, which made my time there even more wonderful."
