Our teachers are inspirational, caring, amazing ... and so much more. We hope you agree.
Internationally World Teachers Day is celebrated on 5 October each year. However, as this is usually during Australian school holidays, Australia celebrates the day on the last Friday in October of each year.
Held annually since 1994, World Teachers Day commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO ‘Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers’, which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers and standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.
