Planning for First Day Back at Riverside ESC
Riverside Education Support Centre welcomes our students and all the excitement of the first day back when school opens on Monday 31 January. Parents and Carers will need to make themselves aware of certain limitations associated with the current pandemic environment.
For the safety of our students and staff we are continuing to follow the latest health advice. Please click this link to a factsheet called Back to school: keeping your children safe. The document provides information about the Department of Education's 'Safe Return to School Plan'. It details how we need to work together to keep our students, staff and school community safe.
It is strongly recommended that every parent and carer read the factsheet.
As you will be aware, public health and social measures are in effect for the Perth and Peel (including Rottnest Island) and South West regions to limit the spread of infection. Details are available at wa.gov.au. This includes the requirement for masks to be worn while indoors at school in these regions.
Teachers and staff in our school will need to wear their masks indoors. You might want to let your child know that they will see staff wearing masks, and that teachers may take their mask off when teaching. Our staff will explain to our students the importance of wearing a mask as together we work through this transition period.
Primary students are not required to wear a mask, but are encouraged to do so. You can choose for your child to wear a mask indoors and that is allowed.
As Principal, I want to assure you that the health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority and we will continue to follow the latest WA Health advice issued by healthywa.wa.gov.au.
Thank you to all students and parents for your understanding and support during these times.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school on 9583 2428.
