Travel and Parking

Transport for students to and from Riverside ESC is determined by the specific needs of the student, with most children either coming by school bus or via family transportation.

Families seeking to use the government-funded school bus service need to complete an application. Information is provided on the School Bus Services webpage.

Like most schools, traffic at drop-off and pick-up times is extremely busy. RAC comments that “Congestion around schools can make it riskier for children to cross the road alone. Large, reversing cars and poor lines of sight can increase the risk to young and smaller pedestrians.” (See RAC article.) Please exercise patience and consideration, using the traffic and parking zones in accordance with displayed signage.

Parking

The school (including the adjacent oval) is surrounded by roads on all sides. Curb parking is available in most places. Pick-up and drop-off zones provide safe quick turnover zones for delivering and collecting students. Limited off-street parking is also available from Fraser Entrance.

There is no parking available inside the main gate.

ACROD permit holders should in the first instance discuss available parking with the school office. There are three disability parking bays at the rear of the school, one on Fraser Entrance and two in the rear carpark.

Bus bays are located on Fraser Entrance – parking is strictly prohibited in this zone.
