Enrol for VacSwim 2018

With swimming pools and beaches a big part of the Western Australian lifestyle, ensuring your children can swim competently and safely is essential. You can now enrol your children in VacSwim swimming lessons during the October and December/January school holidays.

VacSwim is for all children - from beginners to more advanced swimmers and young people doing their Bronze Medallion. Your children can start as young as five years old.

Your children can join in the fun of learning to swim at pools and open water venues across the State.

Enrolling in VacSwim - The Department of Education

Children with special needs are encouraged to enrol in VacSwim.

If participation is conditional on special precautions being taken, then suitable supervision must be arranged by the parent/carer before enrolment is completed. If possible, smaller class sizes may be arranged, please contact VacSwim immediately after enrolling using the abovementioned details.

  • Parents Can Promote Protective Behaviours

    'Protective Behaviours' is a life skills program for parents offered by Child and Parent Centre, Dudley Park, in partnership with Anglicare. It is designed to help parents teach and promote safety to their children. Although the course is not related to the Protective Behaviours priority learning program at Riverside ESC, parents may find much that connects the two.

    Ms Lisa Rodgers has been appointed new Director General of the Department of Education in news confirmed by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery. Riverside ESC extends congratulations to Ms Rodgers and looks forward to her input and direction for schools in WA during 2019 and beyond.
